Readers Question: I have droopy, sunken eyelids and they need a make up lift, what should I do?

Answer To Readers Question: When it comes to over 40 eyelids, it usually sinks or sags. Eye lids age faster than the rest of your face because the skin on your eyelids are so thin.

For brighter, tighter looking eye lids here is some advice:

Fill your brows with eye shadow powder. A well-defined arch directs attention upwards, making the lid appear lifted. Then apply primer and a neutral eye shadow from lash line to your eye brows. For pale skin, look for a bone color or sheer soft pink. For medium skin and darker tones, use something warmer like a soft beige or rosy brown.

Dust a soft, smoky color like brownish pink or dusty lavender from the lash line to the crease. Then use the same color, only layered on a little thinker, inside the crease. Subtly darkening this rear creates the illusion of a larger lid.

Using a narrow, point brush, line the top lashes with a gel-based eyeliner. Once the gel liner dries, it will not sink into the crepey skin. Finish by lining the inside of the lower lid with a white eyeliner pencil. A droopy eye lid can make your eyes look so much smaller, but the white pencil opens them back up.

Readers Question: I have very skimpy eyebrows from all the over tweezing I did when I was younger and now that I am 40 ears old my brows are to skimpy for my liking.

Answer to Readers Question: You can fake your eyebrows by filling them in:

Before you add color, define brow proportions by making three marks with an eye pencil. Brows should start above the inner eye point, arch above the outer edge of the iris and tape 1/4 to 1/2 inch past the outer eye.

Guided buy your markings, smooth on wax with a flat angled eye brush. Dip brush in powder and feather hair like strokes over the arc you have created.

If you want to fake a whole new shape to your eyebrows:

First apply a wax balm to provide a base for brow powders. Your bare skin will not offer a stick-to surface, you can also use a waxy lip balm like chapstick.

Use a precut stencil or template as a guide, holding it in place at the sides while brushing on color to fill the cutout shape.

Readers Question: How do I transform my makeup from day to night in a few easy steps?

Answer to Readers Question: There a few easy steps that will change your makeup from day wear to night wear.

Start by wetting a contour brush to intensify the color of eye shadow. Starting on the corner of the bottom eye lid right inside and under the crease focusing strictly on just the outer corner of the bottom eye lid. With the angle of brush, make a triangle of color on the corner. Angle the brush from the outer corner and in the crease of your eyelid, press down on the brush so the eye shadow stays in place. Pick up brush and turn it, keeping the same end of brush on the outer corner and bringing the other end onto the corner of bottom lid. Press down again and you have creased your triangle.

Blend eye shadow up and out with a large shade brush. Do not blend too much. You want to see the contrast between the light and dark colors. Too much blending will just create one blended combo of all three colors and your hard work will be down the drain.

For the top eye lid, a favorite dark eyeliner thicker from outer corner working to the inner corner into the eye lash line. Diminish the line when you get to about your pupil. Add Liner to the inside bottom lid unless you have small eyes. Avoid getting the liner too thick or dark beyond the pupil.

Add mascara to your eye lashes. Clean up any messes under eyes with your makeup wipes if no foundation has been applied or with a flocked sponge if foundation is on.

Do not make a thick line around the entire eye lids. The thinner the eyeliner, the more open your eyes will appear.

Readers Question: What can I do to make my lips look luscious?

Answer to Readers Question: You can accomplish having your lips look luscious with three steps:

Use a small camouflage brush or small, flat concealer brush to apply a line of concealer around the rim of your lips. Like a lip liner, only it is going in and slightly outside the lip line. With your fingertips, blend around and on the lip making sure it blends into your foundation. The faint, blended concealer line will give the illusion or larger and fuller lips.

Add lip liner around lip, shade the corners of your lip and the middle of lip with the liner pencil. Use the camouflage brush to reshape any mishaps.

Use a lip brush to apply full color starting from the center of your pout and blend out into the corners. Blend from pout to lip corners. Lipstick is not necessary unless you want a dark lip. You should always use lip liner because it holds onto lip color. Different color pencils can also be used to change th color of your lip gloss or lipstick.

For the spring and summer make sure your lip liner and your lipstick are about the same color, it is outdated to use a darker shade and makes you lips look to harsh and out of balance. And do not forget to blend.

Good Luck

Diane likes in Perth, Australia and her question is: “What are the best 10 slimming foods?”

Answer to Readers Question: Please understand that there is no miracle diet food in this world but there are certain foods that promote satiety you need to pick foods that are high in fiber, more than others and they can help you eat less over the course of the day.

You need to select foods high fiber, healthy fats or protein. You need food packed with important nutrients, vitamins and minerals:

Apples: A apple a day may keep the fat pants away from you. Apples is a perfect snack with high water contents, it helps prevent blood sugar spikes that lead to cravings. Organic apples are the best pick.

Eggs: eggs are a great source of protein, which is the keep to keeping you full and satisfied.

Cauliflower: is a non-starchy vegetable and can be eaten in unlimited quantities. Cauliflower contains the cancer-fighting phytonutrient sulforaphane, folate and vitamin C, which is helpful in loosing weight.

Lowfat Yogurt: is a way to sneak more dairy into your diet. Use it also in dips, sauces and salad dressing. But remember that yogurt is not a weight-loss magic bullet.

Oatmeal: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day by eating oatmeal you can become slimmer. Oatmeal is ranked as the most satisfying breakfast food because it also helps you stay fuller longer as it is packed with fiber and is a good source of protein.

Peanuts: Almonds, walnuts have been getting all the glory, but do not disregard peanuts. Peanut eaters end up eating less over the course of the whole day and are more likely to maintain their weight.

Soup: Soup can be slimming too and is considered a good food. If you have a 10-oz serving of broth-based soup a day you will feel fuller and therefore result,in your taking few calories throughout the day.

Fish: Fish tops oatmeal and vegetables in slimming foods selection. It has been proven that a fish lunch versus a beef lunch; that the fish lunch is healthy for you and it reduces your calorie intake.

Bulgur: High fiber grains are a great way to round out a meal and it is easy to cook. Bulgur is a quick cooking form of whole wheat, takes 10 minutes to prepare once the water is boiled and can be a substitute for white rice and pasta. Remember that fiber helps prolong the insulin response so you do not have the blood sugar spikes you have with low fiber carbohydrates.

Salad: Salads are a great opportunity to add a lot of filling foods into your diet at one time, fresh vegetables, lean protein, beans and healthy fats. Salads don’t have to be sad, add mesclun, argula or spinach as these greens are tastier than iceberg lettuce and they also contain more iron, calcium, vitamin C and folate..

Sherry, an old friend had a question: “What is the proper diabetic shoes that can help me keep my feet healthy and happy?”

Answer to Readers Question: It is very important that when you go shoe shopping and you have diabetes to consider how “they feel” versus “how they look”. Do not be concerned about fashion a fashion statement at this time.

Diabetes causes high levels of glucose (blood sugar), which can damage the nerves leading to the feel and also reduce the supply of blood. This condition is known as neuropath, a diabetic may not be able to feel abrasions and other foot injuries. The poor blood flow can set the stage for infections and slow healing injuries.

Wearing shoes that do not fit well can cause a blister and often turns into a deeper wound in normal circumstances, but when you have diabetes, you may not even feel the injury and this can lead to a serious infection that if not treated could require an amputation.

Diabetic shoe shopping is really simple:

It is recommended that you visit a shoe store and ask the staff member to measure your foot and to find the shoe that fits your properly.

Check with your doctor and ask for a recommendation as to the type of shoe you should purchase.

Go for comfort and make sure the shoe feels good when you try them on.

Choose a rounded toe because it will give you plenty of room and not cram you feet into a shoe that is too small.

The shoe should have a thick sole that offers good shock abortion. Make sure that the soles are not too flimsy.

There are shoe make especially for people with diabetes. The shoe lack seams on the inside that could rub your feet and can be fitted with special insoles that better distribute pressure on the sole of your foot.

When you first get your new shoes, take them off often and thoroughly inspect your feet to ensure that your are not developing blisters or red spots on your feet. You diabetes could prevent you from feeling these injuries.

If you have insurance or are covered by Medicare, find out if you are covered for a pair of diabetic shoes.

A sense of authenticity is one of our deepest psychological needs, and people are more hungry for it than ever. Even so, being true to oneself is not for the faint of heart. Are you up to living an authentic life?

Do you know who you are: Your very own self.

The hunger for authenticity guides us in every age and aspects of life. it drives our explorations of work, relaionships, play and prayer.

Questions of authenticity determines our regard for others.Authenticity is correlated with many aspects of psychological well-being, including vitality, self-esteem, and coping skills. Acting in accordance with one’s core self- a trait called self-determination, is ranked by some experts as one of three basic psychological needs, along with competence and sense of relatedness.

People who feel inauthentic are often living life according to fixed views about how they should be.

I know of 8 acts of authenticity:

Reads novel- it is the best way to figure out what is feels like to be in someone else’s head and that is what helps us to distinguish our own identity.

Meditate-Meditation creates moments of happiness, from here you can investigate how to create real fulfillment.

Be deliberate- authenticity consists in being aware that you have choices and consciously choosing what you do.

Do not be to deliberate-People often make better decisions when they don’t think sboud them. Go with the old say “go with your gut” Authentic reactions are much more at gut level.

Cultivate solitude- quiet and time for the self are a big plus if you are worried about inauthenticity, there is nothing like shutting the door and keeping the world out for a period of time.

Stay connected- community is an outlook towards life in which you define yourself in relation to the world around you rather than onlyl in connectionwith yourself. You should consider “enlarging the sense of self”.

Play hard- whether it is taking an art class; ballroom dancing, playing basketball, running, weight lifting, or just hanging out with friends, doing something you really enjoy allows you to express who you arally are.

Be willing to lose- feelings of inauthenticity are heightened by a lack of a phiosophy that allows failture to be part of life. If you are leading a full life, you are going to fail some every day.

Readers Question: “Can many symptoms of menopause make your life miserable?”

Debbie from Perth,, Western Australia.

Yes, Menopause is a transition in the life of every woman. You will be experiencing dripping hot flashes that can ruin your day, and night sweats can leave you longing for a sound night’s sleep. You can also become irritable, have mood swings and low energy and you can feel like you are going through “mid-life madness” You are not alone when you feel like your menopause symptoms are ganging up on you. 96% of women in menopausal experience 3 or more of these symptoms, and its no wonder you feel overwhelmed.

Visit your family doctor and ask him to recommend ,endocrinologist or a clinic that specializes in women’s to help you deal with these symptoms.

The average lifespan for women in the United States is now 80 years and some women will spend four decades in their postmenopausal years. The experience of menopause is highly individual, and with this in mind, you can look at menopause as an opportunity to assess your health and lifestyle factors that affect your health, and to take steps to plan the future you want.

Diet, exercise, and proper medical care, are important steps toward a lifetime of good health. But good health is more than just the absence of disease. Midlife women can enhance their quality of life by maintaining social support, reducing stress and anxiety, and taking time to relax and pursue activities they enjoy.

Readers Question: Georgette, lives in Perth, Australia and her question was, “How does one deal with a jealous partner?”

Answer to Readers Question: You are not the only woman out there struggling with this problem. You must be feeling confused, sad and frustrated because your boyfriend is so jealous. Though you love him, feel connected to him on many levels and issues, despite the warmth and tenderness you share, your relationship is tortured by his frequent bouts of jealousy.

Jealousy is a very common issue in relationships and the problems it presents are not so easy to resolve. Jealousy has deep roots, often in the lack of parental affection early in life or in later experiences of loss or rejection by a loved one. This kind of experience can breed enduring insecurity in relationships and undermine the capacity for trust,

At first, jealousy in a partner may feel good. It can make you feel wanted and appealing, but as you are discovering, it quickly becomes a prison and a potentially dangerous one at that. It restricts your freedom, putting you under a constant cloud of suspicion for innocent interactions.

Jealousy is a sign that a person feel threatened, and in emotional panic over threatened loss, some people do dangerous things. The fear makes them actually misperceive innocent social situations, viewing every glance or conversation with an outsider as absolute proof of abandonment. Then, they feel tremendous anger over what they wee as a betrayal.

Often jealousy incites aggression, it arises from a sense of personal weakness, and it occurs because of personal fears of losing a partner who is important to his sense of self.

One way to resolve this one of one is you need to try talking calmly to your boyfriend about his jealousy You might be able to effect some changes. Whatever you do avoid arguments and don’t get defensive about you own behavior. Tell him a kind, loving way how his reactions makes you feel-how they scare you and how restrictive they feel.

Then jointly create a set of rules that you can both live by that will satisfy you both. If you want to save this relationship you need to work it out. You are not going to completely solve this problem in one discussion or 20. You will have to revisit this issue often and work it out one at a time. It will take a great deal of patience and understanding from you- but his worst fears can be subdued if he is worth keeping. Take the first step down the path of change.

Losing weight, and preventing the loss of muscle mass (called lean body mass), bolsters general health and helps the body to fight disease. Maintaining your weight loss means learning not only new eating and exercise habits, but also developing new attitudes about food and time priorities. The process of change can be an exciting learning experience.

Weighing the Options strives to answer these questions. Despite widespread public concern about weight, few studies have examined the long-term results of weight-loss programs. One reason that evaluating obesity management is difficult is that no other treatment depends so much on an individual’s own initiative and state of mind. Weight loss maintenance may get easier over time, once you have successful maintained a weight loss for 2–5 years, the chances of longer-term success greatly increase.

How to achieve your weight loss? It’s much easier to reduce your calories by making small changes in your current habits than to change your entire lifestyle overnight, as many of these diets require. Oh, and don’t forget to exercise! Permanent weight loss is just around the corner if you come up with a serious plan and follow it faithfully. It is safer to change your eating habit then to take diet pills. People taking any anti-obesity drugs (such as phentermine) or MAO inhibitors, or any of the other well marketed diet pills should be very cautious as there are many serious side affects. In addition, a rare syndrome (seratonin syndrome) theoretically may result when two or more serotonergic drugs (i.e., sibutramine and fluoxetine) are taken together.

Start loosing weight by eating fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy and fat. Drink enough water daily and exercise and you will see your weight beginning to drop off.

Diet pills can be very dangerous to your health. They come in two basic groups: over-the counter and prescription. Diet pills contain stimulants that speed up the metabolism and suppresses the appetite. One the most popular diet pills considered to be as natural as can be is Hoodia Gordonii. It is derived from a cactus plant that grows in South Africa. Scientists have recently isolated several compounds in this amazing plan that are responsible for weight loss. What Hoodia Gordonii does is it tricks the brain into thinking that the body has enough energy. Our hunger is triggered by the need for energy. Hoodia Gordonii diet pills will not build muscle and it will not burn fat. Your muscles are your fat burning machines.
